Minnedosa is proud to be an agricultural community. We have a “connection with the land” and realize the importance of agriculture to our area not just economically, but also socially and culturally. The fields of the surrounding area provide fertile ground for most cereal grains and oilseeds, as well as, many forage crops for use in livestock production. There are several livestock operations in the area also.
The Minnedosa region is well-known as “pothole country.” Through a long-established partnership between area landowners and habitat groups, land has been reclaimed and preserved as part of a natural eco-system that is unique in Manitoba.
There are vast and varied amounts of waterfowl in the area. We are the only breeding area in North America for the Canvasback Duck.
