River’s Edge Recreation Park

Discover Minnedosa

The Rivers Edge Recreation Park Project is a grass roots effort to develop a recreational area west of Tanner’s Crossing School, north of the river. Our plan is to develop this area in 4 phases over 5-7 years.  We are pleased to announce that Phase 3 of the project is now complete!  The 9 hole disc golf course (complete with a post and rope fence, concrete tee-boxes, as well as custom manufactured targets and signage) was finished over the fall/winter of 2016/17. Click here for a Disc Golf Scorecard. Discs are stored at the Gateway Motel 204-867-2729 and can be borrowed with a deposit.

Our sincere thanks for the time, effort and financial contributions of all those who have been involved with the disc golf course development.

At this time the River’s Edge Park Committee is currently on hiatus.  From our humble beginnings, we have accomplished a great deal and I (Paul Laliberte) am proud to be associated with the following individuals who have committed countless hours and tireless dedication to the Park’s development over the past 5 years: Casey and Carly Vanderhart, John Mendrikis, Christina Woodcock, and Stephanie Jordan.

Volunteers Needed

Does this sound like a project you’d like to get involved with? Do you have special skills or expertise that you could donate to our fundraising or construction efforts? When the time comes to start putting shovels in the ground, we will be needing people of all skill levels!  Perhaps you would like to become a “River’s Edge Friend” and receive our email updates relating to the project’s progress? This is a community effort! Everyone is welcome to get involved. See our contact information below.

We have great Momentum and community recognition for our project, however we are needing an injection of new volunteers to carry the torch, particularly as we broach the final phase of our project, the Skateboard Park.  If you have an interest in skateboarding or have kids or grandkids that do, this request is for you!  Please be in touch so as to help bring our vision for the park to fruition.
